Sleep: houses
Sleep: hidden & quiet
How it works
From zoom 11 in the offline regions. “Hidden”: can people on roads, paths or in houses see or hear you? Forest, scrub and hedges hide you; open fields don't. Counts more than the house distance. “Quiet night”: road and railway noise, full penalty from 55 dB. “Avoid slopes”: from a 30 m elevation model, so small flat patches on a slope may not show.

Map data
How it works
The data is prepared in advance from OpenStreetMap and elevation data (buildings, paths, terrain, protected areas, the hidden and noise maps, slopes) and loads straight from this site. Areas outside the prepared regions have no data.

iPhone: Share → “Add to Home Screen” keeps the stored data.
How it works
Stores buildings, water, terrain, protected areas, the hidden/noise maps and slopes for the visible area. The app itself and every area you've viewed also stay available offline. The background map only works offline where you've already looked at it (bulk downloads aren't allowed by OpenStreetMap), so for navigation without signal also export your spots as GPX to an offline map app. Installed from Safari's “Add to Home Screen”, WildNav opens like an app and iOS keeps its stored data.
